Coming into force on the 9th July, new legislation will make it easier for consumers to to make complaints against car manufacturers. This change will see Alternative Dispute Resolution legislation pass dissatisfied consumers on to a resolution provider. It will also give consumers the power to contact a recognised dispute resolution service.
Also as a result, all UK businesses must tell dissatisfied customers how to contact the required dispute resolution service. The ADR law applies to all businesses that sell goods or services to consumers.
Over the last year, changes to consumer law as well as forthcoming changes to ADR legislation will make it easier for unhappy consumers to get their complaints resolved.
